Instagram

Hey party people!

I have had an iPhone (free courtesy of Tudi!) for the past year and a half. This spring sometime I discovered Instagram! It's an ap that has almost totally taken the place of my blogging - yet another reason I've been so absent. It's quick and easy for me to use, and it's what I post pictures of the girls in almost daily. I now have a new phone with a better camera, so I'll probably use it even more. If you'd like to see my pictures, you can click on the link below. You can also follow me on Instagram if you haven an iPhone, my user name is "simplydelightful"

Reds Game

Before leaving Lexington, we tried to cram a bunch of stuff into our schedule that we wanted to do but never found the time. One such adventure was to go to a Cincinnati Red's game. Dan had wanted to see one of their games the entire time we were in Lex, but having a resident schedule didn't exactly lend to a lot of time off. Nevertheless, when O&O came to help pack, we took advantage of them and fled to Cinci to see a game. They were playing the Yankees! We were also completely surprised they had veggie dogs at the ballpark, who would have guessed?!

Happy Father’s Day!

Since we get up and go to an 8:30 service (that’s 30 minutes away) each Sunday, our morning Father’s Day celebrating was a bit rushed, but fun nonetheless. We celebrated Classic Style... wake Daddy up in the bed with his gifts! Classic Style also includes breakfast in bed but we opted to eat at the table since no one wants syrup from 20 sticky fingers on their bedding. The girls and I snuck around and got Dan a bike jersey from a local cycling shop. But they were the most excited about giving him some twizzler mini’s they picked out for him at Target - and eating them for him, of course. Ellie and Julia gave him special cards they picked out (each with an animal on it).

Donald Miller spoke at our church that day and delivered a fabulous message. Honestly, it was incredible. Dan bought his newest book and is looking forward to reading it. Update: since this summer he has just about finished it.

We went to lunch, I think. And there were naps involved. All in all, it was a nice and relaxing day.
Doesn’t Ellie look just like Dan??

Sprinkler Dancing

Now who can resist a sprinkler on a hot June day?

Silly Girls

Girls will be girls. Especially two mischievous little sisters! This is a hodge podge of silliness.

Dressing up

The ONLY picture I could get of Julia's nails that were painted for the first time.

J just hanging out on our bed. Looking small.

Julia wouldn't nap this particular day and wound up disrupting Dan's studying.

Playing with new horses!

Camping out on the kitchen floor.

Bike Lexington

Back at the end of May our family participated in Bike Lexington! I suppose you could say it's an annual 10 mile bike ride celebrating bike riding. Very fun and very family friendly. The highlight of the girls day was after the ride was over. Ellie watched the big kids getting wet in the fountain and sort of tiptoed around the fountain for a bit before jumping completely in. Julia was rather content to just watch - though she wanted to play soooo badly. We had an absolute BLAST.

Gymnastics Party

Ellie & Julia attended a gymnastics party before we left Lexington. The girls LOVED it! They didn't even notice that there was no air conditioning in the warehouse-like building containing all the equipment. Fun times.
