Tutu!

Auntie Maryann is one of my good old "broken-in" friends that lives here in Lexington. She's been keeping Ellie on Tuesdays so Dan and I can go to small group. Ellie absolutely loves Auntie Maryann. She just lights up when Maryann comes over. However, she just got a job back in Louisiana and will be leaving on Sunday. We are all very sad. BUT, she got a great job and will be rocking with her youth group in a matter of weeks.

Now on to the Ellie stuff... the tutu! Maryann gave Ellie her very first tutu a few days ago. Oh my goodness was it love at first sight! Ellie danced and clapped before Dan put the thing on, and then once it was on... she was running around sooo excited. Maryann really hit the nail on the head with this one! Thanks Maryann, we're so sad to see you go, but are excited for you and your new job!

Orange Cauliflower

There has been some skepticism when I tell my friends/family that Ellie eats cauliflower. There was even more skepticism when I told people that in Lexington, we have white, orange, and green cauliflower. So I thought I would document the two. As you can see, I'm not making this up. Today, after her nap, she went with me when I opened the fridge (to get out her milk) and she picked the cauliflower container off the shelf. We took it to the table and she ate about half of the container full. Then she ate more than half an orange. Whew!

Jealous? Your child can eat like this too! I'll tell you how for three monthly installments of just $39.99! Just mail me all three checks and I'll tell you in precise steps exactly what to do. Or I'll just tell you right now. I read "Super Baby Food" waaaaay back when Ellie first started solids and it practically started me on my own life changing transformation. Then I read "Eat to Live" and it truly changed my life. I'm not exaggerating here people!

Halloween

Ellie and I went to a small Halloween party (on Halloween) that was weird. We "trick or treated" to a few of the hostesses neighbors, played a few games in the back yard, and ate some snacks. Ellie's favorite part was eating her bag full of gummy bears. This chick gave out all organic candy! I think that was all Ellie cared about was the gummies. She just stared at all the other kids and clung to me like crazy. But she was the cutest one there! Our little flower!

First Pixie

Well you voted and it only took us three months to do it... Ellie had her mullet removed! I thought about taking her into a salon (for all of three seconds) and knew she would freak freak freak in the seat. So, I opted to whip out my trusty scissors and do it myself! Side note: How many of you knew that I cut Dan's hair all the time? He hasn't been to anyone for a cut in 4 years. Anyway. We were in Arcaida and Ellie sat in her little rocking chair that Tudi (my mom) bought for her. She was rocking away and I was trying to snip snip while she was moving. Needless to say, it was quite a challenge. But... the end result is cute.

Keeneland

Woops! I forgot to post this one... sorry all!

We went to Keeneland racetrack eaaaaarly this morning for their annual breakfast. Now, for those of you not up to date on your horse racing information, Keeneland is a pretty unique racetrack here in Lexington. They have races a few times a year and it's a huge event here in town. I'd say it's bigger than UK football (probably because you can tailgate every day for two weeks while the races are on). Anyway. Keeneland has an breakfast each year that's supposed to be for the kiddos. After you eat, you get to stand right next to the track while the horses all warm up. Sometimes they get close enough for you to touch, so it's pretty cool. The breakfast started at 7am, and we were told to get there as close to that as possible because it gets crowded quickly. Well, we were there at 7:30 and no seats were left inside so we ate outside. But it still wasn't that crowded (Yes, Dan you were right, we could have slept longer).

I'm not sure what was Ellie's favorite part, but it might have been her little milk carton. Either that or the little jockey statues.

Bi-Water Farms (yes, again)

Ellie and I went back to Bi-Water farms today and this time it was on purpose! haha. We met a bunch of friends out there for lunch, the petting zoo, a hayride, and pumpkin picking. And it was as much fun as you think it would be! Ellie was actually pretty tired most of the time, so I couldn't get her to smile in any of the pictures. Wait a minute, maybe it's the farm because she didn't smile the last time... Anyway. We are excited to be experiencing a real Fall up here in Kentucky!

Fake Puppy Love

About 3 or 4 houses on our street have those little garden statues in their flowerbeds. You know the one's... you get them in the garden department thinking they're a good idea and when you bring it home, you find you made a mistake. Our Mexican-American next door neighbors have two chairs, a table, and two little (white) kids riding an old-fashioned tricycle. When we take our walk, Ellie always wants to go play with those kids. She's quite stubborn about it. Well, a few houses down there is a puppy in the flower bed. A puppy! When Ellie spotted it, she stopped and stared for a good while. Then she walked over (with Dan) to pet and give it a kiss. Now, every time we pass this house, she leaves the sidewalk and pays the puppy a visit. It's pretty cute considering the fact that she thinks it's alive.
