Wild Pony

Apparently we have a resident Wild Pony that I just found out about. I hear he likes to be fed apples. He comes out when he gets home from work and his favorite thing to do is toss about two little girls until they cannot stay put any longer and are strewn about the floor in heaps of laughter and giggles. Again! Again! Isn't it fun to be little?

The Leftover Present

Sometime after Christmas Ellie emerged from my sewing room with a tall narrow box. She was determined to get IN this box and made up her own little game of "leftover present." So Dan brought me a present that somehow mistakenly got left at home during the holidays. Oops!

Julia only thought she wanted to play this game...

Backyard Snow

Somehow Julia has come to believe that playing in the snow means eating snow. And that's it. I'm not sure how this happened, maybe it's because she really can't move in her boots (that are 3 sizes too big) and since she sits still all there is to do is watch Ellie or eat snow. And since she's a "do" girl, she eats snow. That's what I think at least.

Not one to be outdone, Ellie has started eating snow too. She still plays more than eats, though.

Raising Chololate Lovers

So I made some raw chocolate mousse out of avocados (and maple syrup, soaked dates, vanilla and cocoa powder) . How many of you are thinking "ew, gross" right now? Dan thought so too until he tried it and let me tell you, it's quite yummy. The girls really wanted to try it, so I let 'em. Ellie was quite disappointed, but Julia seemed to enjoy it. Well, about half of it anyway. Not sure I'll waste this stuff on the likes of them again! Now as for dark chocolate... the two of them can tear it up!

How dirty...

... can a little one get while eating pizza? Especially when I forget to put a bib on her? Big sis tends to keep her clothing spic and span (and has been known to be able to wear something for 3 days in a row before getting it dirty). Julia is a very messy eater and manages to get herself quite dirty each time she eats, regardless of what she's eating.

Have you missed us??

I found that most blogs I read took breaks during the Christmas season... but not me! I like to take my break after the holidays and for the entire month of January! Hah. I'm working on a few posts and will have some fun stuff up soon!

Fish & other pets

We went to a pet store the week before Christmas just for kicks - it was Dan's idea... kudos for Dad for thinking of something so fun. Julia really enjoyed terrorizing the fish. She found if she would strike the tank the fish would scatter and thought it was great fun. Almost at fun as running off with Ellie's current toy. Of course they had dog, cat, and rabbit adoptions (we almost left with a dog but decided since we'll be moving in just 6 months that would be a bad idea). I think the funniest event was the Santa pictures they were taking with the pets. Santa and the dog... funny times.
