The Tree

So Dan decided to pull up the dead crabapple tree we planted last summer and replace it with a new one. He found a very pretty and (quite) healthy tree at Home Depot after we grabbed some lunch on Tuesday.

Ellie was acting crabby and while she and I sat in the car awaiting the purchase of our new back yard tree, we had a little "chat." One where I tell her that she cannot be mean just because she is tired, and that she has to respect others around her. Who knows how much of it she actually understood, but she shaped up right away so she must have understood something. Anyway. We drive up to the loading area by the garden center and Dan walks out this enormous sweet gum tree. He starts putting it in the car and we realize it's waaaay too long for our Pilot. Way to long. BUT we had to get it home, so Dan crammed it in and hopped in the drivers seat hoping we would not wreck on the way home. We found the entire thing to be quite funny, only Ellie was more than preturbed (at least at first). Here's a video of her talking about the tree... it's "too big."
